Location
Taplow House Hotel & Spa is a perfect getaway location for those seeking beautiful parkland and quiet surroundings. The hotel is situated in a delightful rural area yet is still easily accessible from the nearby towns. The beautiful location and grounds make it a popular choice for weddings and events and the hotel is well placed for visiting Clivedon Gardens, Kew Gardens and Windsor. The charming historic house is set in elegant and peaceful surroundings, providing a lovely view from many of the rooms’ balconies. Although located in a green and serene location, Taplow House Hotel & Spa is easy to find and offers ample free parking. The nearby train station and mini market make it an even more convenient and attractive location for visitors.

Breakfast
Guests of Taplow House Hotel & Spa have mixed feelings about the breakfast experience. Some guests found the breakfast to be excellent with plenty of options to choose from and freshly cooked food. Likewise, the staff was accommodating to adapt the regular breakfast to a vegetarian version. On the other hand, some guests experienced issues with the menu and breakfast service and had to wait for a long time. Moreover, some guests found the breakfast to be limited, chaotic due to untrained staff or even awful. Despite mixed reviews, most guests found the communal areas to be excellent and the rooms to be clean and comfortable. Additionally, guests enjoyed the beautiful breakfast/dining room and lovely terrace.

Dinner
The dinner experience at Taplow House Hotel & Spa is a mixed bag according to guest reviews. While some guests enjoyed delicious dishes such as mushroom and onion sauce and interesting, superbly presented food, others had dire and inedible dinners with bad service and long wait times. The dinner menu is small and some guests would have preferred more variety and an a la carte option. The Georgian dining room is beautiful, but some guests found the dinner portions to be small and expensive. The wine list is good, but some guests were charged steep prices, such as £32 for 2 omelettes. Overall, the quality of ingredients and elaborate dishes make the food a clear strong point, but the slow meal service and small portions may not be to everyone's liking.

Rooms
The Taplow House Hotel & Spa is a beautiful property with stunning decor and ambience and grand rooms that are exactly like the photos. However, some guests have reported that the rooms are small with sloping ceilings and tired furniture. Some bathrooms were not clean and were in need of renovation. Additionally, the lack of soundproofing can make relaxation difficult and insufficient staffing has resulted in no room service after 10 pm. There are some lovely big rooms, great views and room upgrades available, but some rooms are cramped with small double beds and are not soundproof. While some renovations have been carried out, the interiors are slightly tired in parts and some rooms have not been refurbished to the same standard as the communal areas. Despite this, some guests have had a quiet, comfortable stay in spacious rooms with ample storage space and nice views and lovely bathrooms with both a bath and a shower. Overall, the standard of the rooms is slightly mixed with some rooms being outstanding and others needing improvement.

Beds
Taplow House Hotel & Spa offers a range of different bed accommodations for all guests. Some guests have found that the beds seem dated and old with lumpy mattresses, while others have raved about the comfort of their bed and linen with goose feather and down pillows and duvets. While some guests were disappointed with the size of their bed, others found the room unbearably hot. Some rooms featured a weeny double bed while others had a large 4-poster bed. One guest even described their bed as 'AWFUL!' However, overall, the beds were found to be comfortable by most guests, provided a good night's sleep with some praising the memory foam mattress. Unfortunately, some guests found that their beds were left unmade during their stay. Note that opening windows is not possible in some rooms.

Cleanliness
According to guest reviews, the Taplow House Hotel & Spa's cleanliness has been a subject of mixed emotions. While some guests have raved about the spotless condition of the hotel, others have pointed out the tired state of some parts of the building that were not cleaned to their satisfaction. Many of the negative reviews pointed out issues with bathrooms and a lack of attention to detail from housekeeping, including dirty cups and spoons, dusty extractor fans and unsightly carpet stains. Some guests also reported issues with bed linens, including red nail polish stains and previous guests' clothing on the floor. Despite these issues, many visitors described their rooms as clean and comfortable, while praising staff for their friendliness and responsiveness to issues. Overall, the hotel seems to offer a beautiful location with stunning views, but could benefit from a bit more attention to cleaning and maintenance.

Staff
Taplow House Hotel & Spa has a friendly and accommodating staff who received exceptional reviews from guests. Despite a slow and haphazard service, the hotel's team made up for it by being polite, attentive and welcoming. Most guests were pleased with the staff's helpfulness and attentiveness and some even highlighted staff members who went out of their way to provide excellent service. However, some guests had a hit-and-miss experience, citing insufficient staffing, poorly trained staff and a lack of leadership from management. Despite this, the majority agreed that the staff was willing, friendly and went above and beyond to ensure guests had an enjoyable stay.

Spa
Taplow House Hotel & Spa offers a delightful spa experience. While some guests felt that the spa was limited with only a sauna available, others enjoyed the spa treatments and praised the new facilities. Unfortunately, some guests were disappointed to find that the spa was not yet finished or available due to renovations with the layout and design of the spa leaving something to be desired. It seems that the addition of a spa to the hotel has been a recent investment and while there may be some initial teething problems, guests can look forward to an uplift in the hotel's amenities once the spa is fully operational.

Accessible
Taplow House Hotel & Spa is a charming accommodation option for those seeking a relaxing getaway. However, guests with disabilities had some accessibility issues during their stay. Many reviewers expressed concerns about the lack of a lift in the hotel with some guests reporting having to climb steep stairs to reach their rooms. For those with limited mobility, it is recommended to ask for a special room that accommodates their needs. Some guests also noted challenges they faced with their room assignments. One reviewer mentioned requesting a room with a shower due to a disability, but was initially given a room with a bath. After requesting to switch to a room with a shower, they were moved to a smaller room. Despite these issues, the hotel does offer a spa which could be a great feature for a relaxing stay once the accessibility concerns have been addressed.
