Travelmyth is a hotel search engine and hotel reservation provider. Registration on Travelmyth is strictly voluntary and free and is only necessary to reach some features like saving your favourite hotels.
We collect data in three ways:
When you're performing a search you provide us information like the dates of travel, the destination, the chosen categories and filters used like the price range.
When you're browsing our sites you provide us information on which pages you choose to visit and your preferred language and currency.
When you click a link to a booking site we collect this information.
When you create a member account you provide us your email, first name and last name. We also ask you to choose a password and if you agree to receive marketing emails from us. Your registration is complete when you confirm your email. Any information that you give us must be true, current and accurate.
When you start or complete a booking on Travelmyth you provide us your name, email, phone number, country of passport, special comments as well as your preferred room type, the number of persons travelling, the number of children travelling with you and their ages as well as any special requests you might have. For fraud prevention you might need to send us your identity card or passport. After the booking you might send us feedback and information about your experience at the hotel.
If you're making a booking on behalf of someone else or you're providing personal details of others that you're travelling with, it's your responsibility to get their consent before you provide their details and make sure that they understand how their data will be used according to this Privacy Policy.
When you contact us through a contact form, a support ticket, a social media message, by email or phone you provide us your name and contact details and you write a message which might include additional personal information that you choose to provide, for example your CV if you're applying for a job.
When you visit a page or perform a search, we collect information like your IP address, the date and time of your visit, the referring URL, the exit URL, the dates of your travel, the number of persons travelling and the number of children and their ages, the selected destinations and hotel categories, as well as information about the browser and the device that you use to access our Platforms. From your IP address we try to detect your country. We need this information to serve you with relevant content, detect malfunctions and improve your experience.
When you complete a booking at a Booking Site that you were redirected through our Platforms, the Booking Site might inform us about the dates of your booking, the hotel, your country, your language, your device, the purpose of your travel (business/leisure) and the fee that will be paid to the Booking Site by the hotel.
When you're redirected to our bank to pay for a booking that Travelmyth acts as the OTA, the bank will inform us the payment was completed successfully or not, your name, card type and first and last digits of your card, expiration date and other related details. We only store on our servers the status of the payment (successful or failed).

If you complete a booking on our Platforms, we need to keep your personal data in order to provide the service and for tax, legal and auditing purposes. Usually, we'll not need to keep your data after we receive a tax clearance certificate for the tax year that your booking was placed.
If you have a member account, we keep your data for as long as you have the account. You have the right to ask us to delete your personal data if we don't have any overriding legal obligation to retain certain data.
If you're using our Platforms without having an account, we might keep your activity linked to an IP address indefinitely to protect our business interests and improve our product by being able for example to verify whether our Terms & Conditions are being complied with, to enhance network security, to prevent fraud, to understand how users interact with our product and to inform our marketing strategy.
Data Processing takes place according to all applicable Greek and European laws and regulations and the Data Controller (Travelmyth Private Company, Githiou 22, Chalandri 152 31, Greece) has filed the necessary Notification to the Greek Data Protection Authority.
Purpose of this Processing is in principle the provision of our services to you, as described in our website. Provided that you register as a Travelmyth member and therefore consent to these terms, we may also evalυate or analyze your personal preferences, in order to create a personal profile for marketing purposes. This means that while using Travelmyth Services you might get personalized search results or any other information related to your preferences. If we have your consent, we might send you personalized offers by email from time to time.
We’ll never sell your personal information to anyone, with an exception in the event that Travelmyth is sold itself, which will mean that everything will be transferred to the buyers so that they can continue to provide the services.
When you complete a booking on our Platforms we'll transfer relevant reservation details to our contracted suppliers (hotel rooms wholesalers / bed banks / hotels) in order to perform the booking contract.
When you choose to get redirected to another Booking Site to continue your search there, we'll share your dates of travel, the number of rooms, adults and children and their ages and the selected hotel in order to get redirected to the correct page at the Booking Site.
We’ll share your personal information with authorities if required by law or court order or asked by authorized law enforcement personnel.
From time to time we might also share aggregated usage information with others or publicly, like the most popular searches for example. This type of information will not contain any personally identifiable information.
