Villa Corti, an early 1800s Italian villa perched atop a scenic hillside, offers visitors an immersion into the charms of old Italy with stunning views of Lake Como and the surrounding city. Its picturesque gardens, though slightly overgrown in places, retain an enchanting quality that complements the breathtaking vistas available from the panoramic terrace, especially delightful during sunrise or as city lights twinkle below.
Conveniently located near the city center and the A9 motorway, the villa provides easy exploration and transit options, despite narrow, winding roads leading to it. Proximity to the highway yields some noise, but the serene ambiance and soundproof windows largely mitigate this concern. Guests frequently commend the villa's spacious, clean rooms which with their rustic decor and creaking wooden floors, deliver an authentic historical experience. Although modern amenities like Wi-Fi in rooms or air conditioning may be lacking, the comfortable beds and beautiful lake views ensure a restful stay. Cleanliness is consistently praised with rooms and shared spaces described as spotlessly maintained.
Hospitality is a strong point with guests appreciating the warm and helpful host who creates a welcoming atmosphere and offers valuable local dining recommendations. The dining experience, while mixed, sees special mention of dining tips and restaurant reservations enhancing guests' stays. Breakfast, enjoyed in the serene garden or terrace, is deemed simple with a need for more variety and freshness.
Guests also highlight the convenience of safe, free on-site parking and the overall comfort of the beds, contributing to undisturbed and restful nights. Despite some challenges in accessibility and modern comforts, Villa Corti excels in providing a memorable retreat with its historical charm, stunning views and exceptional hospitality, making it an appealing choice for a nostalgic, serene escape above Lake Como.

Summary of reviews related to the '3 Star' category
Summarized by AI
Hotel Engadina is a modest yet comfortable option for travelers seeking a budget-friendly stay in the heart of Como. The hotel, while basic and lacking luxurious amenities, stands out for its cleanliness and quiet ambiance. Guests have frequently praised its excellent value for money, noting it as a sensible choice for the price paid. The facilities might be somewhat dated and functional, yet they remain largely adequate for a short stay, especially for those on transit.
The hotel embodies the essence of a three-star rating with decent accommodations primarily reflecting the limitations of its category. While some have commented on the minimal breakfast offerings and the small size of the establishment, the overall consensus points to its suitable value for the cost. It's an ideal pick for those seeking a reasonable, no-frills option without compromising on location and basic comfort. Despite its modesty, few have found better value for money in the region, particularly during the high season.
