Originally built in 1874, this historic home was sold to Dr. William Irving in 1905 and to Dr. Francis Bennett in 1934. The Bennett family resided in this home for four generations. Francis Bennett is most famous for his examination on the girls involved in the Parket/Hulme case which was later turned into a movie titled "Heavenly Creatures" by Peter Jackson. Parts of the movie were filmed in the The Grange.
