Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
The Liguanea Club in Kingston receives high praise from guests, particularly for its exceptional location at the heart of New Kingston. Visitors appreciate the convenience of being close to major attractions like Emancipation Park and the Bob Marley Museum, as well as business districts, shops, banks and entertainment venues. Despite its central positioning, guests find the ambiance tranquil and the grounds beautifully maintained, offering a blend of old colonial charm and modern convenience.
The breakfast offerings at The Liguanea Club are generally well-received with many guests enjoying the delicious traditional Jamaican options like ackee and saltfish. The variety of choices between a continental and a Jamaican breakfast, along with the tasty and ample portions, contribute to a positive dining experience, although there are some minor critiques regarding limited choices and occasional slow service.
Dinner experiences follow a similar trend with guests praising the quality and affordability of the food. The diversity in meal options and the enjoyable ambiance are frequently highlighted. However, some find the menu options limited and note the restaurant's early closing times as a slight drawback.
Guest rooms at The Liguanea Club are commended for their cleanliness, spaciousness and comfort with the cleaning staff receiving high marks for their diligent work. While the rooms are comfortable and feature good lighting and cozy beds, they are considered somewhat outdated and could benefit from modern updates and better amenities like improved Wi-Fi.
The hotel's staff is one of its standout features, consistently described as friendly, professional and accommodating. Guests frequently mention the warm and welcoming nature of the team, particularly at the front desk and in housekeeping, contributing significantly to the overall positive experience.
Regarding amenities, the free Wi-Fi is seen as a valuable addition, although its performance can be inconsistent, affecting some guests’ experience. The gym receives mixed reviews with appreciation for its size but suggestions for modernization. On the other hand, the tennis facilities are highly praised, offering well-maintained courts and a lively atmosphere enhanced by local events and tournaments. Parking is generally sufficient and secure, albeit occasionally confusing and busy.
Beds at The Liguanea Club receive favorable reviews for their comfort, contributing to a good night's sleep with the cleanliness of linens being particularly noted. Though some guests have minor complaints about the bed height or mattress stiffness, most find the beds to be a positive aspect of their stay.
Overall, The Liguanea Club offers excellent value for its three-star rating, blending a range of amenities and a charming, historical ambiance. It is particularly suitable for budget-conscious travelers seeking good hospitality and convenient access to Kingston's attractions. While some aspects of the property are dated, the hotel’s numerous facilities and the warm service create a generally satisfying experience for guests.
