Madrid Airport Suites, Affiliated by Meliá, garners positive reviews for its strategic location near Madrid's Barajas Airport, making it extremely convenient for travelers with early flights or overnight layovers. The complimentary shuttle service is a notable advantage, adding to the ease of airport access. However, the hotel is situated in a remote industrial area with limited nearby dining, shopping or entertainment options, which may detract from its appeal for those wanting to explore Madrid or its local amenities. Despite this, the spacious rooms, comfortable accommodations and friendly staff make it an attractive choice for airport-related stays.
Guests frequently praise the breakfast at Madrid Airport Suites, noting the varied and high-quality selection that is available starting from 5 am, ideal for early travelers. The buffet includes both hot and cold items and is consistently described as delicious and well-presented with friendly staff enhancing the overall experience. While some minor issues such as cold eggs or limited variety later in the morning were noted, breakfast remains a standout feature and is considered excellent value for money.
Dinner experiences are more mixed. Positive notes include the friendly restaurant staff and a buffet that some found delicious and varied. However, there are various criticisms, including high prices, limited dining options and inconsistent food quality and temperature. Operational issues such as late evening openings and occasional closures further compounded guest dissatisfaction. While some visitors found the buffet satisfactory and convenient, especially given the lack of nearby alternatives, others felt it did not match the cost or quality expectations.
The rooms at Madrid Airport Suites are described as impressively spacious and functional, often likened to mini-apartments, complete with separate living areas and modern furnishings. Comfortable beds, soundproofing and amenities like fridges and TVs contribute to a positive stay experience, particularly for families needing ample space. While some maintenance issues and occasional noise disturbances were reported, the overall feedback underscores the comfort and utility of the accommodations.
Cleanliness is another highlight with guests noting the rooms’ modern decor and diligent housekeeping. The clean and orderly atmosphere is complemented by regular towel changes and well-maintained bathrooms. However, some areas such as hallways, pool and public spaces could use improvements. Despite minor cleanliness complaints, the hotel generally maintains a positive reputation in this aspect.
Staff receive mixed reviews with many guests praising the friendliness and attentiveness of the team, especially those at the reception and in dining services. Exceptional customer service, professionalism and multilingual capabilities are frequently noted. Nonetheless, some reviews mention inefficiencies, poor communication and occasional rudeness, particularly at the reception desk. The shuttle service also received specific criticism regarding driver attitudes and informational clarity.
WiFi at Madrid Airport Suites is generally considered good with many guests finding the signal strength and connectivity satisfactory. While some reported issues with stability and access, especially for high-quality video calls, the free WiFi is seen as a valuable convenience for most visitors.
The pool facilities receive lukewarm feedback due to frequent closures and maintenance issues. While some guests appreciated the pool's size and cleanliness when operational, others found it crowded, uncomfortable and not well-maintained. Restricted hours and additional rules such as mandatory swimming caps further detracted from the experience.
The hotel also offers a tennis court, though it shows signs of aging. Some guests reported issues with paddle tennis facilities not being fully operational or lacking essential equipment.
Parking options, while available, are often criticized for being expensive and inadequately managed. Guests have encountered logistical challenges and insufficient parking capacity during peak times. Better coordination and clearer information would enhance the parking experience.
Overall, Madrid Airport Suites, Affiliated by Meliá, provides a convenient and comfortable stay for those needing proximity to Madrid's airport. While there are areas for improvement, particularly in dining, pool availability and parking logistics, the hotel's spacious rooms, excellent breakfast and friendly staff make it a worthwhile option for airport-related accommodation.
