Former Castle Hotels in Cove

Τhis baronial manor house, known by the name of Barmore, was οriginally built in 1837 by the MacAlister family. It has been rebuilt ever since by various well-established Scottish architects and designers, and it also boasts an extensive garden and botanical collection. It was eventually sold and opened as a hotel in 1950, offering comfortable and luxurious accommodation, as well as a spectacular setting where guests can admire the lush Scottish greenery and the outstanding landscapes.

Sherbrooke Castle was built in 1896 by a well-known contractor of the time, John Morrison, who wanted to create a baronial mansion for himself. Built in impressive red sandstone just outside Glasgow, Sherbrooke Castle boasts many of the architectural and stylistic characteristics of the late Victorian period. It became a hotel just before WWII broke out, during which it was used by the Royal Navy as a training ground for its officers. In 1945, it became a hotel again, offering lavish accommodation and excellent services to all its guests.
