Chikunto Safari Lodge is located in South Luangwa National Park, (9050km²) Zambia's premier National Park. The unfenced park is approximately 700 km north east of Lusaka. The lodge is situated on the banks of the Luangwa River (Big Bend Site) only 20 minutes from Mfwe airport and roughly forty-five minutes game drive from the Mfuwe main gate.
All tents are fitted with:
-Mosquito net and fan over bed
-Floor to ceiling net windows
-Open wardrobe
-Writing desk
-Sofa, occasional chair and coffee table
-Private covered wooden deck with relaxing seating
All the tents are raised on 1.5 -2m high off the ground. Maximum 12 guests and 4 additional children.
Electricity & Water
The whole lodge runs on eco-friendly solar power. You need to have a supply of international Adaptors on offer, please. Limited WIFI is available in the main lodge area.Tap water is safe to drink. The borehole water runs through a German-certified double filtration system which includes two different filters and UV radiation that kills 99.9 % of all bacteria that the water may contain. The quality is regularly checked. Bottled water is also available on special request.
