Location

Nestled at the very southern tip of Koh Chang, Resolution Resort offers an idyllic setting for those seeking tranquility and escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With its remote and isolated location, the resort is perfect for travelers who crave peace and quiet, far away from cafes, shops, and the noise of city life. Perched on a hill amidst the jungle, the resort provides stunning views over the bay that guests consistently praise as one of the best to wake up to. The beautifully designed hotel and its well-maintained grounds, including a large, exquisite pool, allow guests to enjoy a dreamy sea view from virtually every corner. While the peaceful and secluded atmosphere may require a scooter or taxi for ease of movement, particularly due to the steep and hilly landscape, many find this remoteness a welcome retreat. The resort's location also offers easy access to snorkeling adventures around the small islands nearby, adding a touch of adventure to the serenity. Friendly and accommodating staff enhance the stay with excellent service, making guests feel valued and welcomed. For those who appreciate a quiet holiday enveloped in nature, Resolution Resort provides an oasis of peace with delightful panoramic views, making it an intimate and serene getaway.

Breakfast

Resolution Resort offers a breakfast experience that has garnered a range of opinions from its guests. The breakfast is typically served à la carte, with a selection of up to five different options. Many guests have found these meals to be delicious, with freshly prepared dishes and an inclusion of freshly squeezed orange juice as a delightful touch. While some visitors commend the diverse and tasty offerings, others feel the variety could be expanded further, noting that options can become repetitive over longer stays. The quality of the breakfast, for the most part, meets or exceeds expectations, aligning well with Thai standards and often earning descriptions such as very good or great. Though some reviewers have remarked that the offerings felt a bit meager or limited, the majority seem to appreciate the flavors and freshness of the food provided. However, a few noted that it might not be as extensive as a buffet, with nearly universal agreement that improvements could enhance the overall experience. Guests are also able to order food and drinks all day long at the bar and restaurant, allowing flexibility beyond the breakfast service. While opinions on value may vary, with some finding the breakfast to be on the expensive side, the overall takeaway is that the culinary offerings are indeed tasty, albeit with room for enhancement in variety.

Dinner

Resolution Resort's restaurant garners praise for its delicious and flavorful cuisine, particularly the curry, which receives high marks from guests. The dining experience is highlighted by a menu that is both tasty and offers generous portions. The staff is noted for their accommodating nature, especially attentive to guests with allergies, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Patrons can enjoy meals and drinks throughout the day, enhancing convenience during their stay. While the food quality is consistently commended, some guests mention that the prices for lunch and dinner are on the high side compared to typical Thai standards. This perception is further influenced by an added service charge and tax, although many find the pricing reasonable considering the quality and portion sizes. Despite this, the restaurant remains a preferred choice for breakfast, evening meals, and especially dinner, underscoring the memorable culinary experience it provides at Resolution Resort.

Rooms

Resolution Resort offers guests a mix of experiences when it comes to their room accommodations. Many travelers highlight the spacious, stylish, and clean rooms, often with stunning views of the sea, making for a serene backdrop. Rooms are frequently praised for their modern and tasteful decor, with some featuring luxurious touches like bathtubs on the balcony and seafront bungalows that enhance the relaxation experience. Several reviews mention the comfortable beds and soft pillows, ensuring a good night's sleep, while the sustainability efforts in room design also capture attention. Guests appreciate the hotel for its cleanliness and the accommodating and helpful staff, adding to the comfort of the stay. The idyllic location, with rooms often near or directly by the beach, provides breathtaking views and a peaceful ambiance, which many guests find dreamy and rejuvenating. For those opting for more budget-friendly options, the rooms are described as basic yet clean and comfortable. On the downside, some rooms are noted as outdated and in need of a refresh, with issues like uncomfortable bedding and towels that could use improvement. Despite these minor setbacks, the resolution seems to consistently offer satisfying stays with impressive vistas and cozy interiors for a memorable visit.

Beds

Resolution Resort offers a varied experience when it comes to the comfort of its beds. Many guests have found the beds to be super comfy and incredibly comfortable, contributing to a restful stay. The rooms are noted for their spaciousness, with some featuring large beds and nice amenities like bathtubs. However, feedback on mattress quality is mixed, with some mentioning the need for replacement and describing the beds as hard or even like cardboard. A noteworthy concern includes reports of moldy cushions and pillows, which may affect the overall comfort. Despite these mixed reviews, it appears that many guests have enjoyed a comfortable experience.

Cleanliness

Nestled in the heart of Thailand, Resolution Resort stands out for its remarkably clean rooms, receiving accolades from travelers who have experienced the hospitality of several locales during their journey. Guests have praised the resort's accommodations for being very clean, and the rooms are often described as tidy, fresh, and lovely. Visitors consistently highlight the cleanliness of the premises, emphasizing that it ranks as the cleanest among their stops in Thailand. Beyond the rooms, the resort's aesthetic impresses with its beautifully designed architecture, offering a breathtaking sea view that complements the neat internal spaces. While the resort itself boasts a huge pool, the feedback on its condition varies, suggesting that while some facilities sparkle, others have seen better days. Despite some areas needing attention, the rooms maintain a level of cleanliness that reassures guests of their choice to stay. Friendly staff members add to the positive experience, ensuring that guests feel welcomed and comfortable during their stay. However, the property does face challenges with maintenance, which detracts from what could be an overall appealing experience. Disrepair in certain areas and overdue maintenance are noted, with some amenities showing signs of neglect, including the swimming pool and the cushions. Despite minor setbacks, Resolution Resort's commitment to clean rooms supports a relaxing and rejuvenating visit, making it a well-regarded option for travelers seeking tidy accommodations with a picturesque backdrop.

Staff

Resolution Resort is renowned for its outstanding staff, whose kindness and friendliness have left a lasting impression on guests. The personnel are not only accommodating and attentive but also remarkably helpful, consistently going the extra mile to ensure that guests' needs are met with a welcoming smile. Their proficiency in English further enhances the guest experience by facilitating communication with international visitors. The staff, including a notably friendly and polite manager, create a warm and inviting atmosphere that guests appreciate throughout their stay. This is particularly true at the reception, where staff members are praised for their responsiveness and service-minded attitude, making check-in and other interactions seamless and pleasant. The attentive care provided by the staff is highlighted in feedback from many guests, who speak highly of their ability to handle requests efficiently while maintaining a genuinely friendly demeanor. The Cambodian guy at the reception stands out as especially helpful, embodying the resort's commitment to exceptional service. Overall, the staff's dedication to ensuring guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay is evident in their consistent efforts to be attentive, friendly, and professional, making Resolution Resort a preferred choice for those seeking excellent customer service in a tranquil setting.

Pool

Resolution Resort offers a variety of opinions about its pool facilities, which generally lean towards positive experiences. The pool, described as big and beautiful, is often praised for its cleanliness and daily maintenance. Many guests find it to be a refreshing spot, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploration. The pool's size is a highlight, providing ample space for the limited number of rooms, which suggests a more private and exclusive swimming experience. Despite some remarks about greenish water, indicating algae presence, the pool's soft water without chlorine is appreciated by guests. Additionally, the resort features a charming hot tub on the roof, adding an element of relaxation to the stay. Although there are mentions of periods when the pool was closed due to renovations or its use by a diving school, which limited access, the pool is generally well-received. The staff's friendly service, along with the great food and drinks at the on-site restaurant, further enhances the overall poolside experience at Resolution Resort.
