The quintessential French breakfast, featuring fresh baguettes, croissants, butter, jam and yogurt, is often highlighted as delicious, generous and abundant. The morning coffee, though noted occasionally for its small size, is frequently described as delightful. Guests appreciate the simplicity and traditional nature of the breakfast, which is perceived as good value for money. The breakfast space itself is described as welcoming with some enjoying their meals in a cozy small-scale restaurant or even on a charming terrace. The efficient and friendly service adds to the pleasant morning ambiance. However, some noted the lack of savory options such as eggs or deli meats, suggesting room for diversity in the menu. Overall, the breakfast at 'Les Initiés' is deemed satisfying and substantial, making it a commendable part of the stay, especially given its reasonable price compared to other options in the area.

Dinner

Les Initiés offers a distinct dining experience with many positives noted by guests, especially the on-site brasserie situated beneath the hotel. Many enjoy their first meals here upon arrival, highlighting the quality of the cuisine and the pleasant atmosphere. Rooms

'Les Initiés' offers a charming experience in an old Normandy-style building with a prime central location and fantastic views, especially of the Palais de Justice. The hotel features clean, comfortable rooms, although many guests note their small size. Despite their compactness, rooms are described as functional, well-furnished and cozy, suitable for a short stay. While the decor is somewhat dated, it adds to the building's character. However, some aspects could be improved. Rooms situated on higher floors are accessible only by steep stairs, as there's no elevator, which can be inconvenient for guests with heavy luggage or mobility issues. The bathrooms, often described as small and in need of updates, sometimes lack modern amenities. Noise from the surrounding area can intrude due to minimal soundproofing typical of older structures. On the positive side, the staff provide exceptional service, including options for bike parking and subsidized parking nearby. The comfortable beds and cleanliness contribute to a pleasant stay and the hearty French breakfast at a reasonable price adds value. Despite minor drawbacks, the hotel's central location and charming ambiance make it a suitable choice for travelers looking to explore the city's heart.

Beds

Les Initiés is known for providing a comfortable stay, particularly when it comes to its bedding. Guests frequently highlight the beds as one of the most commendable aspects of the hotel. Many reviewers praise the beds for being extremely comfortable with some describing them as the most comfortable they've ever experienced. The new and super clean bedding also adds to a positive sleeping experience. High-quality bedding and good mattresses are often mentioned, contributing to an overall cozy and well-rested stay. While comfort is a consistent theme, there are a few mixed opinions about the firmness of the mattresses. Some guests find the beds a bit hard, while others feel they are a tad too soft, indicating a variance in personal preference. However, even those who comment on firmness usually affirm that the beds are adequate or still comfortable despite their firmness levels. The size of the beds has been pointed out as a minor drawback by some with mentions of small or narrow beds in certain rooms. Despite this, the majority of visitors seem to appreciate the comfortable and clean bedding, underscoring the excellent value for money provided by Les Initiés. Overall, the beds at Les Initiés stand out for their comfort and quality, making this hotel a good choice for travelers who prioritize a good night's sleep.

Cleanliness

Les Initiés is a modest hotel located in the pedestrian district, offering convenient access to the city center and train station. The cleanliness of the rooms stands out as a significant positive aspect of the hotel. Additionally, the sound insulation is mentioned as mediocre, leading to noise disturbances from neighboring rooms and common areas. In summary, while Les Initiés boasts a perfect location and generally clean accommodations, there are areas, especially the bathrooms, which need improvement in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. The hotel offers a no-frills, functional stay with modern, tastefully decorated rooms that are mostly clean and comfortable despite a few minor shortcomings.

Les Initiés receives mixed feedback regarding its WiFi service. Guests often praise the strong and reliable WiFi access throughout the property, highlighting that it works well and covers all areas effectively. Some reviews even mention that the internet access in rooms is satisfactory, allowing guests to stay connected with ease. However, a significant number of guests have experienced issues with the WiFi. Common complaints include slow connection speeds, inconsistent connectivity and situations where the WiFi drops out frequently or fails to work altogether. Some visitors report faulty internet connections, which at times make it difficult to even establish a connection. Despite these drawbacks, guests still note the presence of essential amenities like heating and hot water, alongside the available WiFi. The brasserie on-site also receives positive remarks. This central spot is ideal for travelers looking to immerse themselves in vibrant nightlife and dining options. However, being in such a lively area does come with its drawbacks. Some guests have mentioned noise issues from both the street and neighboring rooms with partygoers and general street noise being a common concern, especially at night.
