Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Ávita Lodge receives widespread acclaim for its exceptional location, warmly praised for its balance between city proximity and natural serenity. Nestled near Ciudad Quesada, guests enjoy convenient access to the town center and local attractions, while also relishing the tranquility of its forested surroundings.
The lodge’s breakfast is highly regarded, often described as delicious with a rich variety of offerings that feature local dishes, enhancing the overall dining experience. The friendly staff at breakfast service also contribute to positive impressions. Despite some suggestions for more fruit, the breakfast stands out as a memorable aspect of the stay.
Dinner at the lodge's restaurant is another positive highlight with guests noting the delicious, varied menu. Although the restaurant operates with limited hours—open only on weekends—its quality and flavor are highly praised. A notable issue, however, includes a reported case of food poisoning and occasional closures during holidays, which might require guests to seek alternative dining options on weekdays.
The rooms at Ávita Lodge offer a mixed experience. Guests frequently commend their cleanliness and comfort, as well as the lovely views of surrounding nature, which enhance the natural ambiance. However, issues such as small room sizes, lack of air conditioning and maintenance problems, including dampness and noise from devices, are noted. Some discrepancies between the advertised rooms and those provided can also lead to disappointment.
Cleanliness at Ávita Lodge is generally positive with numerous guests appreciating the cleanliness of their rooms. Nonetheless, there are concerns about the thoroughness of cleaning in common areas with reports of pests like cockroaches and fleas in some instances.
The staff at Ávita Lodge is consistently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. Restaurant wait staff, in particular, receive high marks for their attentiveness and individuals like Eduardo are often mentioned for their exceptional service. This positive interaction with the staff significantly contributes to the welcoming atmosphere of the lodge.
Lastly, the pool is a standout feature at Ávita Lodge, drawing consistent praise for its size, cleanliness and the added luxury of being heated and covered, allowing for comfortable use in any weather. The adjacent hot jacuzzi further enriches the experience, making the pool area a favored amenity among guests.
Overall, Ávita Lodge is celebrated for its beautiful location, excellent breakfast, friendly staff and outstanding pool facilities, although potential guests should be mindful of some room and maintenance issues.
