The location is perfect for those seeking intimacy and peacefulness, away from the crowds and noise of the city, yet still close to downtown options for dining and shopping. The resort staff are very accommodating, providing shuttle services to anywhere within the property. Although somewhat remote, it's not far from local restaurants and shops. The hotel's position on the ocean is ideal, offering guests the opportunity to swim and partake in seaside activities. Some guests have mentioned that getting to and from the hotel can be a little inconvenient due to military restrictions, but the proximity to the city center and airport makes it an excellent location. Overall, Mandarin Oriental, Sanya is a wonderful choice for those looking for a luxurious, secluded haven with a private beach and beautiful gardens.

The swimming pool area needs better cleaning and maintenance, but the different pools are very clean. However, some swimming pools were closed during some time of visitors' stay. Though the pool bar only offers soft drinks, there are plenty of restaurants and bars on the property. Guests can also enjoy the private beach, which has calm waters for children to swim safely. The hotel provides swimming rings for guests and the pools are well-designed with ample space, shade and comfortable sun loungers. Though towels may be hard to come by at times, the hotel provides complimentary drinks at the pools and beach. The fitness center has professional yoga mats that are mostly unused by guests. Overall, the pools at Mandarin Oriental, Sanya offer an amazing experience and the hotel is well-maintained and beautiful.

Beach

Mandarin Oriental, Sanya boasts a beautiful and long private beach that offers a great location for guests to relax and soak up the sun. Snorkeling in the clear water surrounding the beach is a favorite activity among the hotel's guests. Though the beach may have some rocky areas, it is still swimmable and offers a picturesque view. The beachfront restaurant provides a lovely dining experience and the hotel's exclusive bay beachfront adds to the beach's privacy. While there are some regulations in place to preserve the coral reef and part of the beach was suddenly closed during our stay, the hotel's private beach remains an excellent spot for families because the waves are calm and safe for children to swim. Guests also appreciated the hotel's location, excellent walking routes and the beautiful beach view that can be enjoyed from their hotel room. Overall, the private beach at Mandarin Oriental, Sanya is a perfect getaway destination, even with a few issues, such as the presence of small rocks and coral reefs.

The buggy service is especially convenient for families with young children, making transportation around the hotel grounds easy. The pools are beautiful and cater to everyone, including singles, couples and families with kids. The private beach is also perfect for children to swim safely with few waves. Although the kids' club has limited activities, it is still a great place for young ones to have fun. The resort also offers electric carts for those who may have difficulty walking. However, some guests remarked that the child safety features in the resort need improvement and the resort may not be suitable for senior citizens and young children due to the lack of convenience when going out. Overall, the Mandarin Oriental Sanya is an ideal place for families to enjoy a relaxing vacation.
