While some reviewers noted that the resort is a bit dated and some rooms could use some updating, the overall cleanliness of the rooms and the nice bathrooms were appreciated. The staff are exceptional, friendly and always willing to help, making guests feel pampered and well-taken care of. The pool area is fantastic with multiple on-site pools, including a tranquil adult pool perfect for lounging or swimming laps. The beachfront location provides guests with direct access to the beach, which is described as beautiful and lovely. Despite some minor issues, such as dirty windows and patios, worn-down towels and sheets and some criticisms of the waiting staff at the Life Saving Station restaurant, the majority of guests had a very good experience and can't wait to go back for a relaxing getaway in Duck, OBX. Overall, The Sanderling is a luxurious four-star resort that offers passable services, but the breathtaking beauty of the place makes up for it.
