Information provided by the hotelThe Gresham is a family-owned and run guest house built in 1827 and situated right on the famous Weymouth Esplanade opposite the beautiful sandy beach and just around the corner from the picturesque harbour. Under new ownership from February 2021, The Gresham is currently being upgraded throughout. Our position on the Georgian seafront, close to the railway and bus stations, offers the perfect seaside getaway, a world away from the stress of modern life with many traditional British seaside treats on offer such as Punch and Judy shows, a land train, pedalos, and the popular child-friendly beach. The hotel caters to couples, families, and individuals in single, twin, double and family-sized rooms. We are also conveniently located for super countryside walks as well as strolls along the beach plus bike rides, water sports and other tourist activities along the iconic Jurassic coast. Nearby there are many attractive places to visit including the historic town of Dorchester, Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Portland with its lighthouse. We are just minutes from some of the best cafes, restaurants, and bars in Dorset with freshly caught fish being a speciality of the town.

Room Types

Double Room with Private Bathroom Room 2 is a small, double room and is located on the ground floor with 2 steps in the corridor and there is no view from the window. There is a small en-suite shower and toilet, but the sink is in the room. The room has a flat-screen TV with Freeview channels and tea/coffee making facilities. A haidryer and mini ironing board are supplied and an iron is available to use on request.

Small Twin Room Room 3 is a twin bedded room on the ground floor (2 steps in the corridor) and looks out on to the rear street. There is a small en suite with shower, sink and toilet. Please note there is a step into the shower cubicle of 21 cm (8 inches) from the floor level. There is a flat-screen TV with Freeview channels and tea and coffee making facilities in the room. A hairdryer and mini ironing board are supplied and an iron is available on request.

Double Room Room 4 is a small double room, located on the 1st floor via stairs and overlooks the rear yard and a wall so there is no view from the window. There is a desk in the room with tea & coffee making and a hairdryer and mini ironing board are supplied with an iron available on request. The en suite has a toilet sink and a small shower with height of 6ft 3inches and 2 steps down in to it. There is also a flat screen TV with Freeview channels.

Family Room with Bathroom Room 5 is a family for up to 2 adults and 1 child. It is located on the first floor via stairs only and overlooks the rear street with a double bed and a daybed. There is a small en suite with shower, sink and toilet. It has a flat screen TV with Freeview channels and tea and coffee making facilities in the room. A hairdryer and mini ironing board are supplied and an iron is available on request.

Large Double Room Room 6 is a double room on the second floor accessed via stairs only. It offers street views and has a newly refurbished, enclose balcony. It has modern en-suite facilities. There is a desk and chair in the room and it has tea/coffee making facilities. Additional amenities include a flat-screen TV with Freeview channels, a hairdryer and mini ironing board. An iron is available on request.

Small Double Room with Sea View (Adult Room Only) Room 7 is a gorgeous single room with a double bed and balcony offering fabulous views over Weymouth Bay The room benefits has en-suite facilities. This room is located on the 2nd floor there are 2 flights of stairs to access it - there is no lift.

Family Room with Private Bathroom Room 10 is a large, rear view, family room on the 4th floor, accessed via stairs only. The room can accommodate up to 3 adults and 2 children with a double bed, single bed and bunk beds. The en suite has shower, sink and toilet as shown in the photos. There is a flat screen TV with Freeview channels and tea and coffee making facilities in the room. A hairdryer and mini ironing board are supplied and an iron is available on request. Please note that this room is not centrally heated and has an electric storage heater

Family Room with Sea View Room 11 is sea view family room on the 4th floor, accessed via stairs only. The room can accommodate up to 2 adult and 1 child with a king size bed and a daybed. The small en suite has a shower, sink and toilet. There is a flat screen TV with Freeview channels and tea and coffee making facilities in the room. A hairdryer and mini ironing board are supplied and an iron is available on request. Please note that this room is not centrally heated and has an electric storage heater.

Single Room with Private External Bathroom Room 12 is a large single room with sea view on the 4th floor, accessed via stairs only. The room is suitable for adults only. There is a sink, flat screen TV with Freeview channels and tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The private bathroom is located across the landing, up a couple of stairs. It is newly refurbished with a shower and has a heated towel rail.

Attic Family Room with Private Bathroom Room 16 is a rear view family room, in the attic, on the 5th floor and is accessed via steep stairs only. It can accommodate up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child and has a double bed and single bed with en-suite bathroom. There is a flat screen TV with Freeview channels and tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a fridge. A hairdryer and mini ironing board are supplied and an iron is available on request. Please note that this room is not centrally heated and has an electric storage heater.

Deluxe King Room This newly refurbished and spacious king room features a large en-suite bathroom and a balcony. It comes with sea views across Weymouth Bay and is equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, a fridge and a flat-screen TV with Freeview. Please note that the room is located on the 2nd floor and accessible via stairs only.
