The very first written record of the castle dates back to the 12th century. Said to have been built by a knight, the castle remained in his family's possession for some hundreds of years and then came to the hands of various aristocratic families.

Initially built in the 12th century, this castle is surrounded by a moat and has been added to and renovated many times since then. Over the centuries, many different aristocrats and distinguished personalities.
