Breakfast
The breakfast at Forest Lodge Hotel has received mixed reviews from guests. Some have described it as lovely, exceptional and amazing with loads of choices and a good variety of options including a continental buffet. The staff serving breakfast are praised as excellent and accommodating to dietary requirements. Others have found the breakfast to be disappointing or terrible with small portions and weird tasting pancakes that were not value for money. There were also comments regarding a lack of decaffeinated coffee and lukewarm food. However, many guests enjoyed the great value for money, the location and the fact that the hotel catered for gluten-free diets. Overall, breakfast at Forest Lodge Hotel seems to be hit or miss depending on individual experience.

Dinner
The dinner at Forest Lodge Hotel was a mixed experience according to guest reviews. Some guests raved about the amazing restaurant and lovely meals, while others found the quality of the food to be poor, disappointing and not great value for money. There were issues with limited, overpriced menus and some guests had to go to nearby pubs for dinner due to the restaurant being closed. A few guests even reported upset stomachs after dining there. Despite some negative reviews, there were also positive ones that praised the special soup and the restaurant's overall ambiance. However, the service was reported to be poor in some instances and there were issues with missing or poorly executed menu items. Overall, guests found dinner at Forest Lodge Hotel to be hit or miss with some loving it and others finding it vastly underwhelming.

Rooms
Forest Lodge Hotel has a mix of outdated and modern rooms with some in need of attention or updating. However, there are still lovely rooms available, such as the cosy and clean en suite rooms, perfect for families or couples. While some rooms were cramped or had poor water pressure in the shower, there were also comfortable and spacious rooms offering lovely views. The hotel staff also provided additional luxuries, like bathrobes and chocolates, to compensate for not being able to provide the room that was booked. Some guests had issues with cleanliness, such as dusty rooms, cobwebs and uncleaned bathrooms. The hotel itself could use some updating with some rundown furniture and poor working order of rooms. However, there were positives, like the comfortable beds and great location.

Beds
The beds at Forest Lodge Hotel have received mixed reviews from guests. While some reported that the beds were very comfortable and lovely with clean and comfy bedding and pillows, others found them to be uncomfortable with low-quality mattresses and pillows that led to bad night sleeps. Some also noted that the 4 poster bed rooms were on the small side and that the double beds were actually two singles pushed together, resulting in a gap in the middle. Additionally, a few guests reported issues with the bedding for children, receiving either bare mattresses and pillows or cots instead of the ordered spare bed. Nevertheless, some guests found the beds to be adequate and even incredibly comfortable, making for a great stay at the hotel which is located in a great location.

Cleanliness
Guests have had mixed experiences when it comes to cleanliness at the Forest Lodge Hotel. While some guests have praised the hotel for being "very clean throughout" and "clean and tidy," others have had unfortunate experiences, finding their rooms "dirty," "filthy," and "unclean." One guest even found previous guests' underwear in their room's drawer. The swimming pool has also received mixed reviews with some saying it was "well maintained" and others describing it as "murky" and in need of cleaning. Some guests have noted that while surfaces were clean, there were cobwebs hanging from ceilings and other areas that needed a more thorough cleaning. Overall, it seems that while cleanliness is important to the hotel staff, some areas could use improvement.

Staff
Forest Lodge Hotel boasts a team of incredibly friendly and accommodating staff, who go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. The hotel is even dog-friendly with staff eager to make sure everyone in the family is comfortable. The receptionist Michelle and breakfast host Kelly both stood out for their exceptional service. Though there were some rare instances of disinterest or delays in service, most guests reported attentive and hospitable staff who were always willing to help with any issue. The hotel's location and pool are both highly praised, but many guests specifically mention the exceptional service and friendliness of the staff as the highlight of their stay. The restaurant staff are frequently noted for their helpfulness and willingness to go the extra mile. Overall, guests report feeling warmly welcomed and taken care of by the forest Lodge staff.

Pool
The Forest Lodge Hotel boasts a pool that is often mentioned in guests' reviews. Visitors loved the pool, describing it as "lovely," "great," and "fab." Many found the pool to be a valuable amenity, especially for families with kids who enjoyed keeping cool and entertained. Some reviewers even called the pool "amazing" and the "highlight" of their stay. Although many found the temperature of the pool to be suitable, some thought it could be warmer. Unfortunately, a few guests reported that the pool wasn't clean with some experiencing murky or dirty water. However, most guests found the pool to be well-maintained and a big plus for the hotel.

Family
Forest Lodge Hotel is a great option for families looking for a relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere. The hotel is not only pet-friendly but child-friendly too with great activities for kids including a pool that they'll love. The family room we had was spacious enough to accommodate a large family and the hotel even offered a free room upgrade for us. While the pool was a hit, there was limited accessibility for prams due to steps in the hallway. But that's not all, there are lovely pubs and fantastic walks for dogs right at the hotel's doorstep. The staff were friendly and attentive to our needs, especially to our 4-year-old daughter. The hotel's location is perfect for exploring the New Forest and nearby attractions like Paultons Park. Overall, it was a great family break and we enjoyed every moment of it.

Dog Friendly
Forest Lodge Hotel is a great location if you want to bring your furry friend along. The staff is welcoming and accommodating towards dogs, which is a great help for pet owners. However, some guests have complained about the price for the dog per night, which is a bit high compared to other hotels. Additionally, the hotel has a rule that dogs cannot be left alone in the room, so you'll need to plan accordingly. On the positive side, the hotel is pet and child-friendly with lovely woodlands for your dogs to enjoy. A few guests have reported slight odours in the rooms, but overall it's easy to stay here with your family and dog. Lastly, note that there is no dog product provided as advertised and some guests have reported that there's an undisclosed dog surcharge. Despite these minor issues, guests agree that Forest Lodge Hotel is dog-friendly, so bring your furry friend along for a hassle-free stay.
