Location
The Salthouse Hotel is the perfect location for a relaxing getaway with its beautiful views out to sea and quiet surroundings. Guests have raved about its outstanding position on the hills overlooking Ballycastle and the Irish Sea, providing breathtaking views of the North Channel. Not only is the location stunning, but the hotel itself is beautiful with modern, clean and comfortable furnishings and decoration. The dining area in particular provides spectacular views and the food is highly praised. If you prefer to explore the surrounding areas, the hotel is in proximity to wonderful scenic places and is close to Ballycastle town centre. Additionally, the staff are friendly and attentive, making for a superb and relaxed stay. The only downside is that the hotel is not in walking distance to the village, but guests still highly recommend this hotel for its remarkable, dramatic coastal views and peaceful location.

Breakfast
Guests have a lot to say about the breakfast at The Salthouse Hotel. Many rave about the excellent, great, outstanding, superb, beautiful and delicious breakfast options available, which are freshly cooked to order and beautifully presented with a continental choice. The stunning views of the coast from the breakfast room are also breathtaking, making for a perfect all-round breakfast experience. Guests also love the superb meal options at the hotel's restaurant. However, some guests did express disappointment with the limited continental choice and the slow service during breakfast. Some also found the quantities of food served a bit disappointing, despite the good quality. Nonetheless, those who had the hot breakfast options found them to be delicious and worthy of a try. Lastly, some guests had suggested granola and toast or pastries in place of wasteful mini croissants and fruit compote.

Dinner
The Salthouse Hotel offers an intimate atmosphere for dinner with lovely views from the dining room. Overall, guests were impressed with the food and service, describing it as excellent, superb and outstanding. However, some guests found the dinner to be overpriced and lacking variety. While some had an amazing culinary experience, others found the red cabbage and potato to be cold, vennison overpriced and some dishes overcooked and too salty. Nonetheless, breakfast and other meals were reportedly delicious with top-class food and great staff. Despite mixed reviews, it seems that The Salthouse Hotel has plenty to offer in terms of dining experiences with some guests describing their meals as a treat and a real highlight of their stay.

The hotel's eco-lodges in particular are a highlight, offering guests a unique and sustainable way to enjoy their stay.

Overall, The Salthouse Hotel is a lovely and well-kept hotel with beautiful rooms that guests are sure to enjoy.

Beds
Visitors to The Salthouse Hotel will enjoy a restful stay with exceptionally comfortable beds. Guests raved about the quality and comfort of the beds, ensuring a relaxing night's sleep. The spacious rooms are designed with high-quality furnishings and bedding, creating a luxurious ambiance. While some visitors wished for larger beds or better mattress toppers, overall, the beds were found to be cozy and comfortable. One reviewer even described their stay as "fab." With comfortable beds and cozy rooms, The Salthouse Hotel offers a delightful stay for all guests.

Cleanliness
The Salthouse Hotel is a beautifully maintained and modern hotel that sets a high standard for cleanliness. The hotel provides guests with stunning views and lovely decor. Guests appreciated the discreet air sterilisers placed throughout the hotel, ensuring a pristine environment. The lodges and hotel were spotless and the cleanliness received 5-star ratings from guests. The staff were friendly and breakfast was delicious with many guests noting the spotless conditions. Unfortunately, there were a few reviews detailing a lack of cleanliness, for instance, dirty masks, earphones and food left in the wrong places. A few guests mentioned that their rooms were not serviced properly or lacked basic amenities like towels and toilet roll. Despite the inconsistencies, the cleanliness throughout the hotel was noted as impressive.

Staff
The Salthouse Hotel has amazing staff, according to the guest reviews we analyzed. The majority of the staff are lovely and accommodating with some specifically standing out as exceptional. The bar and restaurant staff were attentive and accommodating, while the cleaning and maintenance staff were very friendly. Guests also mentioned that the spa treatments, sauna and thermal bath food were excellent and the staff were a pleasure to deal with. However, a few guests did note that some staff members lacked friendliness or experience. Overall, the staff were described as professional, courteous and efficient with a welcoming and relaxed attitude.

Spa
The Salthouse Hotel offers a spa experience at an additional cost, which has mixed reviews from guests. Some found the spa to be amazing, especially with its outdoor hot tubs and stunning views of the coastline. The facilities, including the steam room and sauna, were described as fantastic and superb by some. However, others found the spa to be small and not worth the additional cost with limited time to use the facilities. Some guests also mentioned that the spa menu was highly overpriced, including the massage treatments. Despite this, some guests still found the spa treatments to be really good and exceptional, praising the beauty therapists for their work. One downside was that the spa closed at 6 pm, which disappointed a few guests. In general, though, the spa seemed to be a lovely treat for those who were happy to pay for it with the thermal suite being mentioned as a perfect ending to a stay and the seaweed bath and hot tubs being particularly loved. Although there were some negative aspects mentioned, many guests still loved the hotel and spa with incredible views, fascinating decor and amazing service from the staff.

Family
The Salthouse Hotel is a lovely place for a family break or a perfect get away from it all with friends. The hotel offers beautifully decorated family rooms that are spacious and very comfortable, including eco lodges that are perfect for families of four with teenage kids. However, guests were disappointed that the hotel doesn't facilitate children with no swimming pool and children not allowed in the hot tub. Fortunately, several guests booked pumpkin picking and a causeway tour to keep the kids entertained. The hotel is perfect for a family night stay and a family relaxed 80th birthday celebration. Although the kitchen lacked some basic essentials, such as more than two wine glasses for four guests, the lodge gave guests extra space required to enjoy family time. Many guests were pleased with their stay and already planning their next trip with their family.

Luxury
Indulge yourself in a luxurious stay at The Salthouse Hotel, where the elegance of 5-star accommodation seamlessly blends with a relaxed atmosphere. The stunning property, located on the North Coast, boasts beautiful decor that will leave you in awe. The hotel's outstanding location is matched by the incredible food that is served here. While everything about the hotel exudes luxury, it never feels pretentious. Our guests raved about the large bathrooms and the modern decor that makes for a truly relaxing stay. Though the soap and moisturiser in the bathroom are bolted to the wall, the hotel provides exceptional service that is reminiscent of a high-end retreat. We cannot recommend this fabulous hotel enough - it's a beautiful location that is definitely worth a visit and not to mention, a lovely treat.
