The only downside is the occasional outdated decor and unfriendly staff, but these are minor complaints in an otherwise exceptional 5-star resort. While it may be expensive, Castel Monastero is clearly at the upper end of pricing for a reason - the beautiful and welcoming structure, stunning medieval castle setting and quality service make this place worth every penny. Just be prepared to spend upwards of 500 euros per night and pay an extra 20€ for an Aperol Sprizz or 15€ for a glass of Rosé. All in all, Castel Monastero is an exceptional hotel that puts true luxury within reach, just don't expect it to be perfect.
