The Lucan Spa Hotel, a charming establishment, maintains a homely atmosphere and boasts pleasant and correct service. Despite its three-star rating, the hotel often exceeds expectations with family rooms accommodating four people and clean, modern rooms. It offers good value for a three-star hotel, aligning well with its rating.
However, the hotel's dated structure is evident with some guests noting that it feels more like a transit hotel and that its decor is reminiscent of an earlier time. Additionally, rooms located near the highway may experience some noise. While the hotel offers a fair value ratio, some guests feel that the price is quite high for the room size and location and that the meal quality could be improved.
Overall, The Lucan Spa Hotel provides a satisfactory experience, living up to its three-star rating with a charming and welcoming ambiance, but it shows signs of aging and could benefit from some updates.

Located in a serene area, Ashemere Lodge offers an attractive option for budget travelers at a nightly rate of €55. However, it has received mixed reviews regarding its facilities and services. Despite the affordability, several guests have noted that the lodge resembles a "dirty old house" rather than a traditional lodge. Concerns have been raised about the cleanliness of the rooms, with mentions of dirty sheets and an unpleasant odor. Furthermore, some guests experienced issues with their bookings and found the rates, especially the higher rates, to be significantly overpriced compared to the level of service and comfort provided. Potential visitors are advised to explore all options when considering accommodations in the area.
