The Centrella Hotel, a Kirkwood Collection Hotel, nestled in Pacific Grove, offers an enchanting experience for guests with its impeccable location, historic charm, and welcoming service. Perfectly situated near the ocean and downtown, visitors can enjoy both scenic seaside views and easy access to vibrant shops, restaurants, and key attractions such as Lovers Cove and the Monterey Aquarium. The hotel's Victorian-style architecture, dating back to 1885, adds a charming, nostalgic touch, immersing guests in an authentic historical ambiance while still offering modern comforts.
The reviews highlight the exceptional service provided, with the staff frequently praised for their friendliness and attentiveness, ensuring that guests feel at home. Guests delight in the complimentary treats like homemade scones and wine served in cozy communal spaces, enhancing their overall experience. While the breakfast offers delicious yogurt parfaits and fresh scones, it occasionally receives criticism for lacking savory options and variety.
Accommodations are noted for their cleanliness and beautifully maintained Victorian decor, creating a cozy atmosphere. However, some rooms reflect the period design with smaller sizes and occasional noise issues, though the central location and backyard patio enhance guests' enjoyment. The beds receive mixed reviews, with many finding them comfortable, though a few guests mention issues like softness or squeakiness, which the responsive staff often quickly address.
Overall, Centrella Hotel is cherished for its historic elegance and superb location, making it a beloved choice for those exploring Pacific Grove and seeking a quintessentially charming stay.

Lovers Point Inn, strategically located across from Lover's Point Beach, is celebrated for its prime seaside setting, offering easy access to scenic coastal parks and a variety of local attractions, including Pacific Grove’s quaint shops and eateries. Guests are frequently charmed by the picturesque surroundings, highlighting the convenience of having both natural beauty and urban amenities within walking distance.
While the inn has received mixed feedback concerning its breakfast offerings, the absence of a morning meal is partially offset by the availability of dining options nearby, and the friendly staff who are consistently praised for their helpfulness. The rooms present a blend of experiences—many guests value the clean and comfortable accommodations, noting features such as modernized interiors and good-sized mini fridges. Some rooms offer stunning views, and the in-room hot tub adds a luxurious touch.
Despite the positive reports on cleanliness, some guests have pointed out issues related to aging facilities, like worn-out carpets and a lingering smell of smoke. The lack of air conditioning can make certain rooms feel stuffy, and the discrepancy between advertised images and actual room size occasionally disappoints. However, the staff, known for their friendly and supportive demeanor, often enhance the guest experience, offering exceptional service and thoughtful gestures.
The proximity to Lover's Point Beach significantly enriches the stay for enthusiasts of beachside relaxation, with instant access to charming coves and gorgeous ocean views. Nonetheless, the beds have elicited varied reactions; while some find the mattresses extremely comfortable, others report them as hard and uncomfortable. Overall, guests appreciate the inn's clean and accessible accommodations, the welcoming atmosphere created by the staff, and the serene environment ideal for a coastal getaway.
