The guesthouse is conveniently situated near the train station, town centre and all attractions, making it easy to explore everything Durham has to offer. The location is perfect for accessing the old town and exploring the cathedral and castle. Guests love that it is only a short walk from the picturesque town and cathedral and they appreciate the nearby walks along the riverside. While the guesthouse is on a steep hill, this is the price for being so close to the city centre. Overall, guests highly recommend Castle View to anyone wanting a central place to stay in Durham with an excellent location.

The breakfast was delicious and the woman serving it was delightful. But what really stands out is the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. The hosts, Erica and the owner, welcomed us with genuine pleasure and were accommodating to our needs. The staff, including Zara and the manager, were brilliant and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. They were friendly, warm and offered a personalized touch to their service. The parking arrangements were slightly complicated, but the manager sorted everything out for us. Additionally, they accommodated our early departure and left breakfast for us. Overall, Castle View Guesthouse has lovely, kind and friendly staff that would do anything for you. We had a great stay and highly recommend it.
