The hotel staff is amazing with professional and helpful service, especially Parker who made our stay even more enjoyable. Though the room furnishings may be a bit outdated, the in-house restaurant that delivers to your room makes up for it with excellent food! The hotel's downtown location is perfect for exploring local shops and other city sights. Unfortunately, due to covid regulations, there are no spa services or pools available and only valet parking. The hotel also closes for a few hours during the day, but that did not affect our stay too much. Overall, Kimpton Riverplace Hotel offers great facilities and services with an amazing location, making it the perfect place to stay in the city.

The staff is kind and helpful and the hotel has a great ambiance and thoughtful room appointments. There is also free coffee in the mornings. The only downsides were the hotel could use more staffing, some areas of downtown Portland are boarded up or have vacant businesses, some guests did not feel safe with individuals experiencing homelessness in the area and some rooms may have a strange noise. However, these negatives were outweighed by the many positives of the hotel, making it a great stay overall.

However, others were disappointed with their stay and found it passable. One downside is the price, but overall guests thoroughly enjoyed their experience. Although Covid put a damper on everything and made some guests feel unsafe in the neighborhood, this is not reflective of the hotel itself, just the current times. Overall, The Benson is a great place to stay for a visit to Portland.
