The Maverick By Kasa in Pittsburgh receives glowing reviews for its prime location, offering guests easy access to restaurants, cafes, shops, and local attractions in a vibrant neighborhood. The hotel, housed in a beautifully repurposed YMCA building, boasts an elegant and modern interior that impresses visitors with its sophisticated charm and practicality.
Guests appreciate the spacious, stylishly designed rooms that combine comfort with functionality. The quality of the beds and pillows is often praised, contributing to restful stays, and the large windows provide scenic views that enhance the cozy atmosphere. High standards of cleanliness are consistently highlighted, with well-maintained accommodations and thoughtful amenities, such as good coffee and snack provisions that make guests feel welcome.
The property successfully blends modern renovations with its historical character, creating an appealing environment for travelers. Despite some comments on the firm and low-positioned beds, the overall comfort and cleanliness are well-received by many. Parking and ease of check-in add to the convenience, appealing to both families and solo travelers.
One area that sees mixed reviews is the level of staff interaction. While the present staff are friendly and helpful, the reliance on contactless check-in and remote communication can leave guests feeling disconnected due to limited on-site support. Although improvements in this area would enhance the experience, The Maverick By Kasa remains a reliable choice for those seeking a blend of modern elegance, comfort, and a strategic location.

Mansions on Fifth offers cozy and clean rooms with comfortable amenities. The hotel is conveniently located close to the hospital and offers off-street parking. However, guests with mobility issues may struggle to navigate their way around certain parts of the hotel due to the lack of an elevator in some areas and the presence of difficult steps. Some rooms also have a large step in the shower stall, which may pose a challenge. Despite these limitations, the hotel staff is friendly and accommodating and will make every effort to ensure a comfortable stay for all guests. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, guests can expect a more limited hotel experience with fewer guests in common areas such as the lobby and dining room. It is worth noting that the hotel does not provide in-room microwaves or mini-fridges.
