Former Castle Hotels in Inverlair

Initially built during the first half of the 17th century as Invergarry Castle, it used to be the seat of the MacDonell family. The castle had been destroyed, burned down and rebuilt countless times during the days of clan warfare. In the 1860s, the castle was rebuilt and repurposed by the famous Scottish architect David Bryce and has accommodated various noble tenants over the years, before becoming the luxurious hotel that it is today.

Inverlochy Hotel is a 19th century mansion, steeped in history and surrounded by the beautiful Scottish greenery. It is located near Fort William, close to the ruins of the Inverlochy Castle that was built in the 13th century, from which it also acquired it name. The castle hotel has even been lauded for its lovely and romantic atmosphere by Queen Victoria herself, since it offers the most lavish and royal-like accommodation experience to all its guests.
