Riverbank House has a fantastic location, according to numerous guest reviews. The hotel is centrally located with bars, restaurants and shops just steps away. It's also a short walk from the train station, making it easy to get around. Guests love the view of the park and the fast-flowing river from the property and many praise the peaceful and quiet setting. Some guests appreciate that the hotel is tucked away, hidden from any noise, while still being very convenient to Matlock town center. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance, including good local restaurants. The private access road adds to the feeling of seclusion. Plus, the location is great for day trips and access to surrounding areas. Overall, the hotel enjoys a perfect location to explore Matlock and the surrounding attractions.

The breakfast is customised to guests' preferences and the staff are very friendly and provide excellent service. The food is fresh and of high quality with a great range and the breakfast tables are nicely laid. Guests particularly enjoyed the scrambled eggs, eggs benedict and the gluten-free options. While some felt that the Sunday breakfast could have been better or that the breakfast was a little light, the majority of guests found the breakfast to be absolutely gorgeous, delicious, lovely, faultless, fantastic, wonderful and hearty. However, guests noted that the rooms were homely with everything they needed, such as TV and hairdryer. Some rooms are spacious, while others are cozy and still adequate. The only concern some guests had was with the showers and bathrooms with suggestions to re-grout and demould them. Both the bedrooms and bathrooms are very clean and tidy, making for a great first impression. Despite a smaller and less modern bathroom in some rooms, it was still very clean. The hotel is located in a fantastic spot and is great value for money. It's definitely worth considering if you're looking for a friendly, clean and comfortable stay.

Visitors also highlighted the owners' exceptional hospitality and informative yet non-intrusive hosting. The owners' and staff's willingness to go the extra mile reflects how much they value their guests with one reviewer describing the owners as beautiful people.
