Hilton Garden Inn Athens Syggrou Avenue receives a generally positive reception from guests, particularly for its modern amenities, cleanliness and staff hospitality.
The location offers a blend of convenience and quietness, appealing to those who value efficient public transport over immediate proximity to the city's bustling center. Though it is slightly removed from central Athens, it is well-connected via bus stops and has easy access to the seaside, the port of Piraeus and the airport. The neighborhood is described as modern, walkable and filled with local taverns, providing an authentic dining experience. The rooftop restaurant and pool also offer beautiful views, including a sightline to the Acropolis. However, the busy main road can be noisy and the hotel is about an hour's walk from the heart of the city. Nonetheless, taxis and affordable Uber rides make getting to main attractions straightforward.
Guests have mixed feelings about the breakfast, which is served on the scenic rooftop terrace. While some highlight it as good and delicious, others point out limited variety and poor presentation, along with issues like inadequately heated hot food and a repetitive selection over extended stays. The coffee dispenser and fruit options have also been flagged as areas for improvement.
Dinner at the rooftop restaurant receives high praise for its quality and taste with dishes like crab salad and the black Angus burger earning specific mentions. Despite some minor order mishaps, the dining options are generally well-loved and the service is often described as excellent.
Rooms at the hotel are commended for their modern and stylish design, cleanliness and comfort. Many guests highlight the luxurious feel, high-quality amenities and impressive views—some even featuring sights of the Acropolis. Tech-savvy amenities and thoughtful design touches like USB sockets and full-length mirrors add to the appeal. While minor issues like occasional dirty linens, maintenance problems and the lack of closets in some rooms are noted, the overall sentiment remains positive.
The hotel's cleanliness is a standout feature with guests consistently praising both the rooms and common areas for being spotless and well-maintained. The state-of-the-art air conditioning and modern facilities further enhance the stay.
The staff's friendliness, helpfulness and professionalism are frequently highlighted, contributing to a welcoming ambiance. Specific mentions of the reception and rooftop bar staff reflect their positive impact on guests' experiences. Despite a few mentions of staff needing more training, the general impression is strongly favorable.
Internet connectivity garners mixed reviews with some guests finding the WiFi fast and reliable, while others encounter weak signals and intermittent issues.
The gym earns high marks for its quality and cleanliness, offering well-maintained equipment and a comprehensive fitness experience.
Parking on-site is convenient but can be tight and sometimes unavailable due to maintenance or high demand. The parking rate is considered a bit high, though valet services add convenience for guests.
The beds are often described as some of the most comfortable guests have ever experienced, contributing enormously to a restful stay. While a few comments about pillow quality exist, the general feedback on bedding is highly positive.
Despite its three-star rating, guests frequently describe the hotel as luxurious and a superb value for money with the quality-price ratio often exceeding expectations. The combination of modern design, exceptional cleanliness and affordability makes it a highly recommended choice.
Overall, Hilton Garden Inn Athens Syggrou Avenue emerges as a modern, comfortable and well-maintained hotel with excellent service and amenities, making it a top choice for discerning travelers.
