The Opononi Hotel is an historic pub with a retro 1960s charm. While it has good bones and is very good value, it appears to be in need of refurbishment and an overhaul with some guests finding it disappointing and noting it has a damp smell odour. Its location in the middle of nowhere makes it a unique place for everyone to gather, but the cooked breakfast could do with improvement.
