Built in 1892 as a 30-room mansion of Charles and Kate Eisenbeis, Manresa Castle Hotel is said to be haunted by quite a few ghostly apparitions. One of the ghosts who inhabit the hotel is that of a woman who jumped from the hotel's window upon learning the news of her beloved's death in the war. Another one is that of a monk who hanged himself in the attic. The most haunted rooms are said to be 302, 304 and 306, while glasses are shattered or turned upside down on their own in the hotel's bar.

Location

Manresa Castle boasts a location that guests appreciate with many saying that the view of the ocean is impossible to fault. The surrounding area is also lovely with a grocery store right across the street and a nice neighborhood for a leisurely walk. Guests like the fact that Manresa Castle is close to everything, including being just a short drive away from downtown Port Townsend and Worden SP. The hotel itself also has fascinating history and an eclectic old castle feel with old pictures of the area bringing back the past. Another plus is the restaurant and bar on-site, which many guests found great. Although some felt the location was a little further out than they would prefer and not within walking distance of downtown, the majority found the location perfect for their needs.
