Very Good
Location
Pendley Manor is a beautiful country manor tucked away in the stunning, green surroundings of Tring. The location is perfect with easy access to the court theatre and a local town nearby, while also being hidden deep in the countryside for a quiet and peaceful stay. The wooded grounds are filled with wildlife, including white peacocks and provide a lovely setting for a family-friendly vacation. The hotel itself is a lovely building, well situated on the outskirts of Tring with a welcoming attitude from the staff. Although there could be more signage to find the pool, the grounds are perfect and the location is simply amazing.

Breakfast
The breakfast experience at Pendley Manor has received mixed reviews from guests. Some diners have described it as lacking value for money when choosing not to order a full English breakfast. Others have reported hit and miss seating arrangements and a limited buffet. However, there have been reports of delicious food, both for breakfast and dinner with some guests describing their breakfast in the conservatory as "gorgeous". Some diners have noted that the quality of the hot food could have been improved with complaints of cold scrambled eggs, soggy bacon and rubbery eggs. The lack of variety, poor coffee and overpricing have also been criticized. On a positive note, guests did highlight the great choice of breakfast and the excellent service from staff, although some guests didn't appreciate not being asked if they required anything extra. Overall, Pendley Manor provides breakfast that is largely enjoyable but with slight areas for improvement.

Dinner
Pendley Manor is a hotel with mixed reviews when it comes to their dining experience. Some guests found the dinner and breakfast to be very good, while others complained about the undercooked, small portioned and expensive food. The Greenfingers Dinner was a highlight for some, while a disappointing lunch left others feeling that the quality of the restaurant was not what they expected. The Oak dining room ambiance and decor received praise, along with some excellent food and a pleasant waiter. However, slow service, dirty and run-down conditions and terrible food left a negative impression on some guests. Despite the inconsistent quality, the restaurant and evening meals were overall enjoyable and good value for money.

Rooms
Pendley Manor is a multi-faceted gem with gorgeous, spacious and modern rooms. Guests loved the comfortable beds and linen, clean and well-designed bathrooms and excellent room facilities. However, some guests did notice stains, dirty windows and mice in the rooms. The family rooms have been recently upgraded and are very spacious, ideal for disabled guests and immaculate. The hotel rooms have both modern and shabby chic touches with antique and Gothic furniture. The upgraded rooms were not as advertised and not much better than a Premier Inn. However, overall, the standard of the hotel and rooms was excellent and the gorgeous decor and meticulous cleanliness made this a unique and beautiful setting. The grounds were stunning with peacocks and a relaxing balcony.

Beds
Pendley Manor boasts some of the nicest beds around! Guests have been raving about the comfortable, big and plush beds complete with excellent linen and a wide selection of pillows. However, while some guests found the beds to be incredibly comfortable, others found them to be a bit too firm and uncomfortable to sleep well. Thankfully, the welcoming and helpful staff are more than happy to address any concerns you may have. The rooms themselves are clean and modern with lovely period features and are always a good size. So, whether you're cuddling up in a four poster bed or simply enjoying the comfortable sleeping experience, Pendley Manor has everything you need for a restful night's sleep.

Cleanliness
When it comes to cleanliness, opinions are mixed about Pendley Manor. While some guests found their rooms to be wonderfully clean and modern, others experienced questionable stains, dirty chairs and dusty surroundings. The main areas and bedrooms were usually cleaned to a good standard, but there were reports of discomfort due to cold, smelly corridors. In terms of facilities, the gym was spotless and the pool was mostly lovely, although some guests noted that the pool and sauna could use a deep clean. Despite varying experiences, the majority of guests agreed that the spa facilities were nice and the rooms were generally comfortable and clean. While a few guests mentioned poor food, many others had pleasant stays and gave high praise for the hotel's cleanliness.

Staff
The staff at Pendley Manor are a mixed bag with some guests encountering rude and dismissive personnel while others praising the exceptional service and accommodating staff. Overall, the majority of guests describe the staff as friendly, polite and helpful with special shout-outs to the exceptional barman, professional reception staff and accommodating restaurant manager. The staff are also noted for their efficiency, attentiveness and personable approach. However, some guests note that the hotel employs inexperienced agency staff and highlights language barriers with receptionists. Despite this, the staff at the spa, restaurant and bar are praised for going the extra mile and creating a great atmosphere. Lastly, some guests suggest that the staff could be more attentive, especially during peak times and a few guests report unfriendly encounters with staff.

Spa
Guests have had mixed experiences with the spa at Pendley Manor. Some found the spa facilities to be amazing with a great pool and massages that were out of this world. However, others were disappointed and felt that the facilities were not well-equipped. Some complained that the steam room was out of action and that there was no hot tub. In addition, the changing rooms were small and the spa wasn't inviting visually. Some guests were unable to get a last-minute spa booking, despite trying for three weeks prior to their visit. Others felt that the leisure facilities were not up to the standard they would expect from a hotel of this kind. Despite these criticisms, some guests enjoyed their time at the spa, particularly the pool, sauna and steam room, which were lovely and mostly quiet.

Pool
Guests who have visited Pendley Manor compliment the hotel's swimming pool, saying it was a great addition to their stay. However, some reviewers noted that the pool and surrounding areas were in need of renovation with some even describing the pool facilities as revolting. Some guests enjoyed having the pool to themselves, but others commented on the pool being cramped or full during specified family swimming times. One guest suggested limiting the time children can use the pool. Despite some critiques, most guests enjoyed using the pool, sauna and steam room, describing it as lovely, pleasant and great for a quick dip. Some guests also noted that the pool tiles needed cleaning. One reviewer mentioned that they were unable to order tea or coffee upon arrival at 9am. In summary, while there may be some room for improvement, the swimming pool at Pendley Manor seems to be a popular option for guests to relax and unwind with the added bonus of peacocks in the grounds.

Family
Pendley Manor is an all-round excellent choice for a family stay with excellent service and accommodating staff. Kids will enjoy watching the roaming peacocks and newly hatched chicks on the grounds. The hotel is also very good with children, offering specified family times for the swimming pool. However, some guests suggested limiting the time for children to use the pool. While some reviews expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of service after 9 pm, others found the hotel to be family-friendly with great facilities for larger groups. Overall, Pendley Manor provides a relaxing and enjoyable stay for families who love nature and a peaceful atmosphere.

4 Star
Pendley Manor is a lovely hotel with a traditional feel and modern facilities. While it may not offer the best value for money, guests can enjoy clean and comfortable rooms and great leisure facilities amidst a beautiful setting. However, breakfast can be disappointing with a fairly limited buffet and pale eggs and soggy bacon. The staff can be friendly and helpful but some guests have reported rude encounters. The pool facilities and changing rooms have been described as revolting and smelly. Despite these drawbacks, many guests have had a lovely and special stay at Pendley Manor, although some have argued that it falls short of a 4-star experience with one review even suggesting it be considered a 5-star hotel with some improvements.

Accessible
Pendley Manor is a hotel that offers mixed experiences for guests with disabilities. While the hotel is accessible by train, it requires a 15-minute walk to reach from the station. Some guests reported that there were ongoing construction works that they were not informed of, which caused inconvenience. Certain rooms, especially in the attic, were difficult to access due to confusing directions and lack of lifts. On the first floor, there were no lifts available, which made it challenging for some guests. However, there were some Rooms with baths, which was convenient for those with specific needs. Unfortunately, the parkland surrounding the hotel was not entirely accessible. Despite the inconveniences, the hotel is deemed ideal for disabled guests; it offers clean, comfortable rooms. Some guests reported issues with cleanliness, like the outdated and unclean pool changing rooms and dirty windows blocking beautiful views.

Luxury
If you're looking for a luxurious hideaway in the midst of beautiful grounds, look no further than Pendley Manor. This genuinely beautiful country house hotel features a stately interior and comfortable modern rooms, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. Guests raved about the beautiful dining room, as well as the gorgeous rooms with lovely period features. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, making it a truly delightful stay. The grounds are also a highlight with plenty of space to take a relaxing stroll. Although currently a four-star hotel with some attention, Pendley Manor could easily sneak up to a five. We highly recommend this beautiful hotel for your next getaway.
