Fieldways is situated in a perfect location, offering guests the ideal base to explore the local area. The hotel is within walking distance to numerous shops and restaurants and easy links provide quick access to Trowbridge. Guests looking to visit Longleat or the two retail parks will find Fieldways' location ideal. The beautiful old building and lovely surroundings offer guests beautiful views of the garden, making it a great spot for a night close to Bath. With plenty of parking spaces available, the hotel is also convenient for those driving. Although some guests noted it was a bit far to walk to some shops, overall, the location is great for those looking to stay close to town with restaurants, cinema and other amenities. Fieldways' location was also handy for those doing medical at army centres or being close to Longleat without breaking the bank. While the nearest pub is not too close, Fieldways is an ideal location for those attending weddings or events nearby. Overall, Fieldways boasts a convenient location and great value for those not looking for a luxury stay.

Some bathrooms were tiny and some had sloping roofs making it difficult to install a shower. Some showers were cramped and had black mould. However, some bathrooms were spacious and had large corner baths. Despite the inconsistencies in room quality, the hotel is centrally located, clean and functional with a lovely pool and attentive service.
