Historic HotelThe hotel was opened by in 1906 by César Ritz after opening one in Paris. After a troubling beginning, the hotel became popular around the end of World War I among politicians, socialites, writers and actors. It is marked by a distinct architecture, heavily influence by Parisian design but devoid of English. Interiors is furnished by Loius XIV opulence and sparkling chandeliers. In 2002, it was the first hotel to be granted a Royal Warrant from the Prince of Wales.
