Inverness Palace Hotel & Spa was originally built in 1870 where a much older mansion used to stand. Designed by a famous Scottish architect, the palace was first opened as a hotel in 1890. Its Baronial-style architecture, its two conical-shaped towers and its majestic entrance that resembles that of Fyvie Castle, quickly made it one of the most distinguished hotels in the area, especially after the tourism expanded after the construction of the railway. During WWI, the hotel was used by the Navy. It has been owned by its current owner since the 1970s and is still one of the most impressive historic hotels in the area.

This place is steeped in history and the architecture and history of the building are really nice to see and experience. It gives you an opportunity to feel the history around you. The detailed history of the hotel is provided by the lovely waitresses who take their time to explain. The old paintings and amazing atmosphere make it look like a castle with so much history in it. The hotel is surrounded by ancient wooded grounds with ultracentenary hugh trees that give character to the location. The rooms, the bar, the lounge and the dining room are just like going back in time - very authentic and with a laid-back atmosphere. It gives you an expectation of old Scottish feeling that is achieved. The hotel is a classy building that gives you an old-fashioned charm and has beautiful gardens with a cedar of Lebanon dating back to 1745. Overall, Bunchrew House Hotel is a wonderful looking historic accommodation to experience in Scotland.
