During WWI, the original villa was occupied by the army and it was completely destroyed by the end of the war. A famous architect designed the new villa in 1922. During WWII, the villa was used as a centre of German transmission. After a strong earthquake in 1976, the villa was not able to be inhabited for a while, and the restoration process began.
