Etape Zen, located in the picturesque village of Illiers-Combray, provides a tranquil and accessible retreat for travelers. Its strategic location, just steps from the charming village center, offers cultural allure and easy access to major roadways, making it an excellent stopover for exploring nearby regions like Beauce, Alsace, and Brittany. Guests appreciate the serenity of the spacious garden and proximity to local amenities, including supermarkets and a gas station. The quiet neighborhood adds to the peaceful atmosphere, complemented by clean and well-organized accommodations and friendly hosts.
The breakfast at Etape Zen is noteworthy, receiving high praise for its generous and delicious offerings. Guests enjoy French-style delicacies like fresh baguettes and croissants in a warm and welcoming setting, often enhanced by the attentive hostess. While the variety is appreciated, some find it limited, yet the overall experience remains positive, highlighting the breakfast as a memorable aspect of the stay.
Comfortable and spacious, the rooms are praised for their cleanliness and serene atmosphere, offering views of a dreamy garden. While some décor aspects may feel slightly outdated, the accommodations provide a restful escape with elegant touches like a central staircase. Cleanliness is a standout feature, with meticulously kept rooms and excellent value for money, further enriched by welcoming hosts who enhance the hospitable experience with their kindness and discretion.
Despite minor issues such as mattress softness and occasional hallway noise, Etape Zen delivers a solid experience, especially for budget-conscious travelers. The property is valued for its affordability in relation to service quality, though some areas might benefit from improved freshness and ventilation. Overall, Etape Zen offers a harmonious blend of comfort, hospitality, and convenience in a charming village setting.
