Initially belonging to the Earl of Orkney, the Glenapp Estate was acquired by James Hunter at around 1870, who hired the renowned Edinburgh architect David Bryce to redesign the castle. Thus, the castle was decorated in the Scottish Baronial style, elegantly combining elements of the Gothic and Renaissance design to create the grandeur and fairytale appearance it has until today. Surrounded by lush landscaped gardens, boasting turrets and towers and an unrivaled atmosphere that transports guests back in time, this castle hotel is one of the most lavish Scottish destinations.
Dogs are more than welcome to join their owners while they stay at Glenapp Castle. There is no extra charge for dogs, but they are allowed only in specific rooms of the hotel. Dogs Stay Free
