Villa Paranaguá Hotel & Spa - Boutique Hotel is ideally located in the heart of Santa Teresa, providing easy access to all areas of Rio. Although the surroundings are a bit sketchy and the neighborhood can be hostile, visitors just need to be mindful of taking taxis after dark due to high crime rates (as with everywhere in Rio). It is a quiet and relaxing location with amazing views of the hills. Guests enjoy being on a quiet street that is only a 10 minute walk to the 'center' of Santa Teresa. The location is preferred over hotels on the beach in Ipanema and Copacabana as it is close to all the main tourist attractions of Rio de Janeiro. However, it may be a bit inconvenient if traveling with a lot of luggage. Despite this, the location is described as wonderful and excellent. Even though Uber cars may have difficulty accessing the hotel, it is located in an exclusive area. Santa Tereza is still considered relatively safe.
