Despite its lovely appearance, some guests believed that the hotel is quite tired and has a lot of maintenance issues. Some customers were disappointed because they got stuck in the steam room and the shower delivered scalding water when cold water was selected. Additionally, there were complaints about the lack of customer service for a four-star hotel, overpriced rates and lack of atmosphere inside which felt freezing. Some guests felt that the hotel is not up to four-star standards, as the executive accommodation was not really executive standard. Many guests felt that the Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel & Spa fell short of their expectations and needed to improve to be classified as a four-star hotel.
