Overall, Captain's Club Hotel & Spa is a charming and idyllic hotel with an excellent riverside location that makes it perfect for exploring Christchurch and its environs. Guests enjoy the lovely views of the river from the clean and spacious rooms with some luxury apartments exceeding expectations. The hotel offers a fantastic dining experience with an outstanding menu, although some guests found it to be overpriced and limited unless you enjoy fish. Breakfast was described as excellent and superb with a great selection of cooked-to-order and buffet options. The hotel is known for its exceptional cleanliness and friendly and professional staff who go out of their way to ensure a memorable stay, although there were some mixed experiences of poor service. The spa was found to be adequate but small and lacking in facilities and the beds received a mixed response.
