Historic HotelInverness Palace Hotel & Spa was originally built in 1870 where a much older mansion used to stand. Designed by a famous Scottish architect, the palace was first opened as a hotel in 1890. Its Baronial-style architecture, its two conical-shaped towers and its majestic entrance that resembles that of Fyvie Castle, quickly made it one of the most distinguished hotels in the area, especially after the tourism expanded after the construction of the railway. During WWI, the hotel was used by the Navy. It has been owned by its current owner since the 1970s and is still one of the most impressive historic hotels in the area.
