Alte Schreinerei-Auberge Harlekin is highly regarded for its strategic location near Constance, the Rhine River and Switzerland. Guests appreciate its tranquil, idyllic surroundings and convenient access to regional attractions, making it an excellent base for exploring the area. The hotel's charming and cozy accommodations, complemented by its geographical advantages, receive frequent praise, although minor concerns about noise and street-crossing visibility are noted.
The in-house breakfast, generally deemed generous and tasty, enhances the experience, though some guests find it basic and expensive. The occasional suggestion for better buffet restocking and more variety, along with the inconvenience of having breakfast in a separate building, are mentioned. Despite these points, most guests view the breakfast positively.
Dinner at the hotel restaurant is a highlight with guests raving about the exceptional quality and taste of the cuisine. The elaborate three-course menus and extensive wine list, combined with attentive, friendly service, create a memorable dining experience. While the restaurant's prices are on the higher side, the overall value is seen as justified by the exceptional food and ambiance.
The rooms at Alte Schreinerei-Auberge Harlekin are described as spacious, stylish and individually decorated, often featuring a cozy, antique atmosphere. Cleanliness is consistently commended, particularly in the beds and bathrooms. Although some guests note the hotel's decor as dated and have concerns about the softness of pillows, the general sentiment is of a tidy and well-maintained environment.
The hotel's staff, led by the friendly owner Mr. Graf, is celebrated for their welcoming and helpful nature, significantly enhancing the pleasant atmosphere. Guests feel well taken care of, despite a few less favorable encounters in the restaurant.
Parking is a strong point with ample, free and easily accessible spaces. Guests appreciate the convenience of parking directly in front of their rooms.
The beds receive mixed reviews with the majority finding them comfortable and conducive to a good night’s sleep. Some guests encounter issues with worn-out or soft mattresses and beds that separate. However, the overall good price/performance ratio helps balance these concerns.
In summary, Alte Schreinerei-Auberge Harlekin is highly rated for its prime location, charming accommodations, excellent dining, cleanliness and friendly staff, making it a preferred choice for visitors to this scenic region.
