Originally a modest lodging, in the first half of the seventeenth century, it has been then gradually transformed into a noble residence in the course of the next century.

Palazzo Novello is in the historic hamlet of Borgo Sotto, known for the presence of buildings from seventeenth and eighteenth century, characterized by gardens and orchards, near the hill of S. Pancrazio.
Are there any elements of particular historical importance at the building?
everyone is struck by the 18th-century staircase of honour, which rises to the main floor. Attributed to the Brescia’s architect Gaspare Turbini, the environment that houses the staircase is embellished with stucco pilasters with capitals and a wooden ceiling centred on the central ramp bordered by an elegant railing of stone columns, which leads to the base of a large fresco depicting the struggle of Hercules with the lion of Nemea.
