Summary of reviews

The Royal Century Hotel at LAX is lauded for its strategic location, which is highly advantageous for travelers. It is situated just minutes away from Los Angeles International Airport and is near prominent event venues like SoFi Stadium and the Kia Forum. The convenient proximity to various commercial areas with shops, dining options and public transportation makes it an excellent choice for short stays and event attendees.
Although the hotel does not provide breakfast, its location provides access to nearby dining options. The vending machine available for quick snacks somewhat compensates for the absence of a breakfast service, making the hotel appealing for layovers and travelers with early morning flights.
The rooms are noted for their spaciousness with some featuring small balconies overlooking the courtyard. Despite the space, the hotel is undergoing renovations and many rooms have dated furnishings and fixtures. Cleanliness varies significantly with some rooms being very clean, while others suffer from issues like dirty floors, stained bed frames and unpleasant odors. Comfort is inconsistent with complaints about broken beds, poorly functioning air conditioning and unreliable WiFi.
Cleanliness is a major concern at the hotel, as many reviews indicate a rundown and dirty environment with frequent mentions of bad odors and pest issues. Public areas such as the reception, elevator and parking lot also reflect this lack of cleanliness. While some guests found the linens clean and appreciated the cleanliness of certain areas, the overall condition of the hotel indicates a need for significant renovation and more rigorous maintenance.
The hotel staff generally receive positive feedback for their friendliness and helpfulness. The room cleaning crew and room service are often praised for their efficiency and attentiveness, although there are occasional complaints about unprofessional behavior among the reception staff. Despite these inconsistencies, the majority of guest interactions with the staff are favorable, highlighting their courteousness and multilingual abilities.
The WiFi service, while free, is often weak and unreliable, particularly in the rooms. It performs slightly better in public areas, though it can still be inconsistent and sometimes busy. Specific rooms, such as room 323, have better connectivity, indicating the need for system-wide improvements.
The beds offer a varied experience with some guests finding them comfortable and spacious, while others report broken mattresses, hygiene issues and outdated bed frames. The inconsistency in bed quality and cleanliness also reflects the general need for upgrades and better maintenance.
Regarding accessibility, the hotel is conveniently close to various food places and event venues with safe parking available in a gated garage. Public transportation is also accessible, though the elevator's reliability is an issue, sometimes requiring guests to use stairs. While the hotel meets some handicap guidelines, improvements in maintenance and mobility access are necessary.
In summary, the Royal Century Hotel at LAX benefits significantly from its location and friendly staff. However, its potential is marred by inconsistent cleanliness, comfort and maintenance issues.
