Historic HotelIn 1842, Melbourne was becoming increasingly industrialized thanks to the building of a railway across the town. As the town flourished, wooden offices became insufficient to meet the demand of residents and workers. Railway commissioners hired William Henry Greene to architect a plan in 1886, the building will have an "imposing appearance" and "Italian architecture". The scale of it all was remarkable even in the 19th century. Construction was finished in 1891, and since then, floors and renovations were added.
