Motel Taking Steps Towards SustainabilityKimi Ora Eco Resort is committed to sustainability, being a signatory to the Nelson Tasman Sustainable Tourism Charter. It features a large bank of solar panels for water heating and utilizes organic gardens to produce food for its vegetarian restaurant. The resort uses electric lawn mowers, provides electric car charging, and its buildings are constructed from renewable timber sources. Kimi Ora has planted over 2200 trees on its property and actively re-established wetlands with the Department of Conservation. For every room night sold, $1 is donated to the Abel Tasman Tree Collective to fund native tree planting.
