Hotel Balcón de Europa, a four-star establishment, receives mixed reviews regarding its value for money. While the stunning sea views and prime location are consistently praised, many guests feel that these aspects alone do not justify the four-star rating. The hotel's facilities appear somewhat outdated with several reviewers noting that it seems a bit run-down. The dining facilities on the upper terrace receive positive mentions, as does the breakfast selection, which is commended for its variety.
The service stands out with professional and attentive staff frequently highlighted as a strong point of the hotel. Some visitors find that the service provides good value, contributing positively to their overall experience. Public areas and the common spaces are described as well-decorated, adding to a pleasant ambiance.
Despite certain areas needing urgent renovation to meet the four-star expectations, the hotel manages to provide a comfortable stay. The amenities are deemed good but could benefit from updates. Overall, while the hotel does offer some positive attributes fitting a four-star classification, aspects related to its facilities and maintenance leave room for improvement.

Ona Marinas de Nerja Spa Resort garners mixed impressions among its guests, particularly concerning its four-star rating and corresponding expectations. Some visitors find certain aspects of the hotel aligning with a four-star standard, such as its overall amenities and the notable view that warrants an upgrade. The breakfast and lunch receive commendation for meeting the standards expected of a four-star hotel.
However, numerous reviews highlight a discrepancy between the hotel's advertised rating and the actual experience. Frequent points of contention include the basic nature of the apartments, maintenance issues and dated facilities, which guests feel are not up to a four-star standard. Criticisms extend to the food quality and service, both of which are considered below par for a hotel of this rating. Many guests express that the overall feel and details of the hotel do not match their expectations for a four-star accommodation and suggest that improvements are necessary.
Despite these areas of concern, the hotel manages to provide generally good experiences, yet could benefit from enhancements to fully meet the four-star classification it markets. The variation in guest experiences indicates that while some aspects may impress, others leave room for improvement to ensure a consistent four-star quality.

Perla Marina's four-star rating has sparked considerable debate among guests. While some found the standard commendable for its category, many others strongly disagree, suggesting it aligns more closely with a three-star experience. The hotel is currently undergoing refurbishments which might hint at improvements in the future.
Several reviews highlight a mismatch between expectations and reality, especially in terms of room quality and furnishings. Guests have noted that the furniture appears outdated and mismatched and some rooms are small and spartan for what one would expect from a four-star establishment. Plumbing issues and the presence of rusty bathtubs have also been raised as concerns needing urgent attention.
The overall quality, which some reviewers found merely average, was said not to live up to what promotional pictures suggest. Instances like receiving two beds joined together instead of a double bed typified the shortfall in service standards. The breakfast dining area was appreciated for its spaciousness, but the interior decor across the hotel is often described as tired and in need of modernization.
Critiques extend beyond the physical aspects of the hotel to general comfort and cleanliness, which were repeatedly mentioned as inadequate for a four-star rating. The perception of Perla Marina being a mass tourism spot added to the feeling of a less personalized experience.
The positive points do include the hotel's reasonable pricing for its category and its potential as a good choice pending the ongoing refurbishments. However, until significant upgrades are completed, many guests feel the four-star designation is misleading.
