The lack of a thalassotherapy pool was noticeable and the fact that men couldn't access the laconium and steam room in the ladies changing room was inconvenient. Champneys needs a central office to handle matters like this. We enjoyed all the treatments we received and the staff was very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. Overall, the spa was great, but there are other spas with better/more facilities. The gardens were beautiful and relaxing, providing a peaceful atmosphere. However, we were disappointed that the hydrotherapy pool advertised on the website does not actually exist. The double bed we requested and confirmed was twins put together with a mattress topper on top, which wasn't very comfortable. We were also asked to pay an additional expense to use the facilities before or after check-in, which was frustrating.
