Historic InnSmuggler’s Notch Inn began life as a farmhouse in the late 18th century, then was converted into an inn in the 1890s, serving travelers heading through the Notch. Over time the property expanded, with the main Greek Revival block dating to the early–mid 1800s (c. 1840), and later additions circa 1900 reflecting the village’s 19th-century growth. Today, the inn is recognized as part of the Jeffersonville Historic District, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987, the basis for the inn’s “National Register” status.
