Resort Taking Steps Towards SustainabilityBarahi Jungle Lodge is Nepal's first hotel to receive certification under the WTTC Hotel Sustainability Basics program, recognizing its excellence in energy efficiency, planet-friendly operations, and community support. The lodge uses local materials and traditional architectural techniques, avoids single-use plastic, provides water in glass bottles, and uses locally sourced shampoo and conditioner in reusable clay bottles. They compost and vermicompost food waste, use a biogas plant, and provide remaining food waste to a local farmer. The lodge also plants thousands of trees annually and conducts regular river cleaning drives.
