The rooftop pool at JOST Hôtel Bordeaux Centre Gare Saint Jean garners mixed reviews. Many guests appreciate the stylish and luxurious setting of the rooftop pool area, which includes a cocktail bar. The pool's scenic views of Bordeaux and its accessibility at no extra cost are frequently highlighted positively. The decor is also mentioned as a plus, adding to the enjoyable atmosphere of the rooftop.
However, some guests find the pool disappointingly small, comparing it to a large bath or even a fish tank. Concerns are also raised about the pool's cleanliness with reports of cloudy and dirty water. The pool's availability is another significant issue, as numerous reviews indicate that the pool was frequently closed or non-operational, detracting from the overall experience. Despite these setbacks, when open and clean, the rooftop pool and bar are considered a relaxing and pleasant feature of the hotel.

Summary of reviews related to the 'Pool' category
Summarized by AI
The Renaissance Bordeaux Hotel boasts a rooftop pool on the 9th floor with spectacular panoramic views, which many guests found to be a significant asset. Reviewers frequently praised the pool for its cleanliness and the stunning cityscape it overlooks. Words like "magnificent" and "exceptional" were used with several guests appreciating the heated aspect of the pool, which added to the overall experience, particularly in the cooler months.
However, a recurring point of critique was the temperature of the pool water with many guests finding it too cold for a comfortable swim. The pool is relatively small, which can become an issue during peak times when it gets crowded. Additionally, the pool area sometimes hosts events, which can be both a draw and a distraction depending on the guest's preference.
Despite being indoors, several guests noted the entrance required passing through the restaurant, which was less than ideal for those seeking privacy. Some reviews mentioned that the pool area needed better maintenance and more attention to details such as making underwater steps more visible and managing the number of sun loungers.
In summary, while the rooftop pool at the Renaissance Bordeaux Hotel offers remarkable views and is a well-maintained facility, its small size and colder water temperature could be potential drawbacks for some guests.
