The Coastlands Umhlanga Hotel and Convention Centre has faced several criticisms regarding its swimming pool facilities. Guests have frequently observed that the pool is unclean with some describing it as murky or even green. The pool area itself seems to be lacking in appeal with mentions of it being uninviting, poorly maintained and without adequate shade or lounging chairs. Accessibility has also been a concern with reports of the pool gate being closed or the pool areas being inaccessible at certain times. Additionally, there were instances where guests were disappointed to find the pool under renovation without prior notice. Overall, there seems to be a consistent need for better maintenance and clearer communication regarding the pool's availability and condition.
